While visiting a friend we were thrilled to find this swing hanging from a tree in his backyard. It was a warm summer day, the large tree providing shade for the swing that overlooks Lake Minnetonka. I was taking some standard shots to freeze the action (1/2000 at f/4.0). Looking to get a more creative shot I quickly flipped the camera to Shutter Priority and dialed the shutter speed down to 1/25. My daughter was in her down swing when I decided “go for it now!”. My D300 did the rest locking on instantly as I panned to get her in sharp focus while the background became a dreamy blur.
